Saturday Technology Training Sessions in September 2008 will be on Sept. 6th and Sept. 20th from 1pm to 4pm in the second floor West Lobby of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library at 901 G Street NW Washington DC, which is right across from the 9th street exit of the Gallery Place Chinatown Metro.
On Sept 6th, Jerry Marindin from Freedom Scientific will demonstrate the newest upgrade to the (SARA) Scanning and Reading Appliance, Laura White from Inclusion Research will do a short 15 mintue demo of the audio interface to the Accessible Voting Machine, and Don Galloway will talk about his experience as the President of the NFB of the District of Columbia, former Peace Corps country director in Jamaica, and Chair of the DC Statewide Independent Living Council.
On Sept. 20th, Mika Pyyhkala, who is a member of the Visually Impaired and Blind Users Group (VIBUG) in Boston and host of the bi-weekly DC Night Out Podcast, will demonstrate the LevelStar Icon PDA, and Rhonda White from the Quality Trust Family Empowerment Center in Anacostia will talk about her work with Adaptive Technology in the Resource Room at the center, and from her personal experience in the community of people with disabilities.
