Abstract The present work proposes a revision of the dentin tissue's characteristics, specifically studying the collagen's structure, its formation, the bindings that stabilize the quaternary structure and the alteration of the collagen fibre by the action of microorganisms present in the carious dentin and by the components of the “caries removal agents”.
