Social networking sites, facebook, bebo, myspace, etc, pose significant risk to businesses and organizations of all sizes. I have had in depth experience helping organizations from start ups to Fortune 50 companies protect against these risks. However, with the increased use of Web 2.0 applications - blogs, wikis, social networking sites - allowing for use of user-created applications the threats to organizations has increased drastically. Although, most are not intentialy, even a purely accidently post can damage a successful business. In today's Web 2.0 world, this is proof that security has to be looked at in all phases of your business planning and strategy. For all of my clients, I look at "security" as no longer being an infrastructure/component of a solution, but more of a business-enabler. How is your organization approaching this topic? For organizations that are looking at security as an enabler - what immediate and long term results are you seeing?
